Job Description
Clarifi Staffing Solutions is looking for a passionate and student-focused Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to become a valued member of our education team for the 2025-2026 academic year. This full-time, in-person role offers the chance to work with students across multiple grade levels, providing them with the tools and support needed to access learning, build independence, and achieve personal and academic success.
The successful candidate will be a flexible, team-oriented professional with a strong background in delivering specialized instruction to learners with visual impairments. This role is essential in identifying student needs, offering targeted instruction, and collaborating with general education staff to ensure materials and classroom environments are accessible to all.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Tracking student progress, using data to guide instructional decisions and interventions. Working closely with educators, support personnel, and families to foster inclusive practices. Creating and sustaining a structured, encouraging, and growth-focused learning environment. Performing evaluations such as functional vision assessments and learning media assessments. Maintaining up-to-date records and adhering to all state and federal special education guidelines. Providing direct teaching in Braille, assistive technologies, and orientation and mobility (if qualified). Keeping families informed through regular communication, promoting consistency between school and home. Customizing educational materials and resources to ensure accessibility and equitable learning opportunities. Designing and delivering Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that reflect each student's unique visual needs. Requirements
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Visual Impairments. Experience working with students with varying levels of vision loss and additional needs. Knowledge of assistive technologies, Braille, large print, and accessible instructional design. Bachelor's degree in Visual Impairments or Special Education required; Master's degree preferred.
