Job Description Clarifi Staffing Solutions is looking for a passionate and student-focused Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to become a valued member of our education team for the 2025-2026 academic year. This full-time, in-person role offers the chance to work with students across multiple grade levels, providing them with the tools and support needed to access learning, build independence, and achieve personal and academic success.

This role is perfect for an educator who is adaptable, collaborative, and experienced in providing tailored instruction to students with visual needs. The TVI will play a critical role in assessing individual student requirements, delivering direct instruction, and working closely with school teams to ensure that classroom environments and learning materials are fully accessible.

Key Duties Include:

Monitoring and evaluating student progress to inform personalized instruction. Conducting assessments such as functional vision and learning media evaluations. Teaching Braille, assistive technology, and-when applicable-orientation and mobility skills. Adapting and designing instructional resources to remove barriers and ensure content accessibility. Developing and executing IEPs that align with each student's specific visual and educational needs. Creating a structured and supportive classroom atmosphere focused on growth and independence. Maintaining ongoing communication with families to support student development at home and at school.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Visual Impairments. Experience working with students who have a range of visual impairments, including those with additional needs, is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technologies, large print materials, and accessible instructional design is essential. Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills. A bachelor's degree in Visual Impairments or Special Education is required, with a master's degree strongly preferred.
