District: Elementary School District 181 We are looking for someone to join our musical team as leader of our stage crew. Stage Crew is responsible for building props, cardboard set pieces, and helping move those pieces during the show. Stage Crew members also run the lights and sound for the show, but we have people from a lighting and sound company train students how to do that.
This is a stipend position, with a salary ranging from $1,600-$2,000, dependent on the number of directors.
SPONSOR DUTIES/SKILLS
Basic Construction/Technical Comfort
- Willingness to follow YouTube tutorials or step-by-step guides for prop and set construction, and comfort with tools such as hot glue guns, paint, and box cutters. Organizational & Project Management Skills
- Ability to manage multiple small groups of students working on different tasks while keeping track of progress on sets, props, costumes, and backstage systems to ensure readiness for rehearsals and performances. Collaboration
- Works as part of the production team (director, and choreographer) EXPERIENCE
Prior experience as a performer or backstage crew member at some point, or experience supervising/volunteering in a theater production as an adult, is preferred.
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE - all rehearsals at CHMS Cafeteria
January-March Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 3:30-4:30. Tech Week Rehearsals March 16-18 5:00-9:00 Performances March 19, 20, 21 7 PM performances, 2 PM Matinee on Saturday
