Senior Textile Graphic Designer

The Managing Textile Graphic Designer leads textile and graphic design team and processes to ensure accurate interpretation of designs are executed as planned.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Integrates hand and computer skills to create complex original patterns, graphics and designs for print fabrics, or manipulates purchased prints for textiles/apparel products exclusive to the Company for assigned brands.
  • Researches, develops, recommends textile/graphic design direction and color combinations and accent colors to Product Designers each season; travels to shop market and benchmark competition.
  • Provides feedback, input and direction to textile/graphic design, ensures quality complex textile/graphic design execution for assigned area using strike‑off approval process, 3D applications, and color ways on seasonal patterns and graphics.
  • Develops and recommends pattern flow by merchandise delivery for assigned area.
  • Provides technical expertise on ability to execute various types of complex textile/graphic design on various fabrics and materials.
  • Uses newly developed art techniques and design technology to enhance skills and abilities in creating original, saleable textile/graphic designs.
  • Presents seasonal overview of print trends to Product Development team and Buyers.
  • Manages and coordinates Textile/Graphic Designer’s overall workload by determining and assigning private‑brand projects, acquiring and managing freelance assistance as appropriate; manages the training, development, and continuing education of the designers, and monitors workload to meet development calendar dates.
  • Researches and provides studies of the latest techniques and technical advances in textile graphic design, and makes recommendations based on those findings.

Core Competencies & Accomplishments

  • 4‑year art degree or equivalent business experience.
  • 6 to 10 years’ experience in the textile graphic design industry, creating fashionable and complex designs requiring seasonal updates and high design capabilities.
  • Advanced use of current textile and graphic design software and hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, fabrics, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Expertise in complex textile designs.
  • Strong ability to lead and direct a diverse, creative team.
  • Strong awareness of textile design trends and strategies.
  • Excellent presentation, persuasion, and written communication skills.
  • Superior time management and organization skills.

Pay Range

USD $65,000.00 – USD $105,000.00 per year.
