Flex is a growth-stage, NYC‑headquartered FinTech company creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense.

About the Role As a Senior Product Designer at Flex, you’ll solve problems for renters across the country who are underserved by existing financial products. You’ll sit on a cross‑functional product team that owns projects from end‑to‑end, from discovery through delivery. The Housing Division at Flex works on the bread and butter of our business – our split rent product, which is now available to every renter across the U.S. While our value proposition is simple for consumers, the product is complex! We’re looking for designers who are excited to understand how intricate systems work and are able to design around them to create beautiful, intuitive native consumer experiences.

Provide feedback to our design team to maintain quality and consistency, and uphold a high bar

Collaborate closely with partners to ensure your designs become a reality

Help maintain and evolve our design system, Ultraviolet

Fold AI into your design process to bring ideas to life faster and build prototypes more efficiently

Key Qualifications

5+ years experience designing and shipping software for consumer‑facing native products

Demonstrated aptitude for digging in to get things done to make your team successful – wearing several different hats when necessary

Comfort with ambiguous problems, and motivation to be a self‑starter

Comfort documenting and explaining your process and rationale behind design decisions, including leveraging data and research to inform decision‑making

Native mobile app experience (iOS and Android), and ability to design interactive prototypes

Experience working with and contributing to a design system

Experienced Figma user

Passion for financial products and improving people’s financial livelihoods

A portfolio of work detailing your contributions to shipped solutions and the impact they had
