Position Overview
The Senior PR & Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of public relations strategies and brand events and activation efforts that enhance the company’s visibility, reputation, and engagement. This role will be responsible for managing media relations, press opportunities, brand partnerships, and high‑impact events from concept to execution, that strengthen the brand’s public presence and cultural relevance.
Key Responsibilities
Public Relations Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement a holistic PR strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business goals and seasonal initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, influencers, and stakeholders.
- Oversee press releases, media outreach, and event planning.
- Coordinate and manage crisis communications and reputation management efforts, alongside PR agency counterparts.
- Track, analyze, and report on media coverage and public sentiment to guide future PR efforts.
Events & Brand Experiences
- Lead planning and execution of key brand events, including product launches, press previews, retail, brand activations, dinners, and partnerships.
- Develop creative event concepts that align with brand storytelling that generates media and social buzz.
- Manage event logistics, production partners, guest lists, and onsite execution with excellence and attention to detail.
- Oversee post-event reporting to measure impact across PR, social and engagement KPIs.
- Coordinate internal communications for corporate events to ensure company leaders are aligned with the messaging.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (marketing, creative, merchandising, retail) to ensure event alignment with broader brand objectives.
Influencer, Talent & Partnership Management
- Identify, engage, and nurture relationships with influential partners and talent to extend brand reach.
- Oversee seeding programs and collaborations that amplify the brand’s presence in key markets.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure cohesive messaging across PR and influencer initiatives.
Content & Communications
- Oversee agency relationships across US, and global.
- Oversee development of press materials, event recaps, and thought leadership content.
- Partner with Digital team members to ensure alignment between PR narratives and online campaigns.
- Ensure agency partners prepare leadership for media opportunities, interviews, and speaking engagements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with key internal stakeholders, including the leadership team, to ensure alignment between PR strategies and business goals.
- Partner with the HR and recruitment teams to maintain a strong employer brand and attract top talent.
Reporting & Analytics
- Measure and report on PR and event performance metrics (media impressions, engagement, attendance, sentiment, and ROI).
- Provide regular reports on media coverage, brand sentiment, activation performance, and other key performance indicators.
- Use data insights to continuously refine communications and event strategies.
- Maintain a living document of all PR and event KPIs — including impressions, ROI, attendance, and media coverage.
- Compile weekly/monthly reports summarizing all PR activities, media placements, and event results.
- Identify process gaps and propose solutions to improve efficiency and tracking accuracy.
- Ensure post-event and post-campaign debrief reports including data, learnings, and next steps.
Process Creation & Documentation
- Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for PR outreach, gifting, events, and communications.
- Build process maps and checklists for recurring activities such as press send‑outs, influencer seeding, event planning, and partnership approvals.
- Ensure that all PR and event workflows are standardized and repeatable, including timelines, ownership, and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Marketing, Communications, or related field (master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in public relations, brand management, and brand activation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successful PR campaigns, brand positioning, and brand activation.
- Strong relationships with media contacts and influencers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Strong understanding of brand marketing, social media, and content strategy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with experiential marketing, product activations, and event coordination.
- Experience with crisis communication management is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
