WPIX 11 has an immediate opening for a full‑time Writer for PIX11 news broadcasts. The position is based in New York, NY. Responsibilities include writing stories for various television newscasts, desktop editing of video for the stories, coordinating live shots from reporters and photographers in the field under deadline pressure, and contributing creative ideas for broadcasts. The writer will also complete additional duties as assigned. Knowledge of ENPS systems is ideal. Qualifications: at least 3 years of experience as a writer or producer of television news broadcasts; a college degree in Journalism or Mass Communications, or significant related experience; facility with language and ability to produce off‑the‑cuff, fun yet authoritative and credible writing style; strong writing, video, news judgment, and internet skills; ability to work well under pressure and collaborate with teams.
