The Planet Group is seeking an Audio-Visual Technical Manager to join one of our well-known global pharmaceutical clients.

  • Pay: $43-$47/hr depending on experience (W2 and benefit options)
  • Duration: 12 mo to start, potential to extend / conver

The Audio-Visual Technical Manager will be responsible for helping maintain a successful video, meetings and event production business to achieve break-even sales and expenses.

Audio-Visual Technical Manager Responsibilities

  • Act as resident SME for all aspects of meeting, event and video production.
  • Consult daily with Account Managers, Project Managers, the Resource Center, and suppliers to facilitate proper scoping for accurate RFP estimates and determine scheduling requirements to ensure events are executed on time and within budget.
  • Provide daily feedback regarding project status, needs and issues to the RC schedulers, M&E manager and account teams.
  • Supervise and develop the M&E AV Technicians who are on staff or under contract.
  • Effectively manage crisis situations (e.g., production problems on sets and locations, during work and off hours, and outside emergencies) and quickly prioritize logistics to accommodate client needs.
  • Ensure all department audio, video and streaming equipment is maintained, facilitate required repairs and coordinate ordering of all department equipment purchases.
  • Assist in new facilities build-out and upgrade efforts from a technical perspective.
  • Fulfills AV Technical Manager role as needed and when appropriate.
  • Understand and enforce safety codes for meeting rooms and venues both in and outside of the client's location.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable corporate policies and procedures.
  • Track time on a daily/weekly basis and meet established utilization numbers for this function.
  • Prefer 5+ years of work experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications (Audio/Video Production), Communications, Theater Production, Marketing or an equivalent combination of experience and coursework in video production, audio/visual production for live events or other relevant area(s) of study is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess significant knowledge and experience in current digital video production technology, web streaming systems/platforms and production of, and audio/video systems for, live corporate meetings and events.
  • Must have significant hands‑on experience with pre-production and onsite execution of live web‑based video streaming events.

  • Able to research and learn technical areas.Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail; determines objectives and assignments while prioritizing competing priorities and schedules.
