Overview: Join a dedicated team focused on patient access and flow within a dynamic healthcare environment in the Southeastern United States. As an Access Communication Specialist, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to facilitate connections between patients, physicians, and nurses, ensuring seamless resource allocation and patient transfers across various facilities.

Key Responsibilities: Serve as a vital link for physician-to-physician communication regarding patient transfers and coordinate the deployment of air and ground ambulance resources. Manage patient movement efficiently by understanding system capacity and bed availability. Operate communication and dispatch systems with precision, maintaining calm under pressure while adhering to established protocols.

Education & Certifications: Current and valid EMT certification or equivalent credentials such as Nursing Assistant, Military Medic, or Certified Medical Assistant are preferred. Completion of NIMS 100, 200, and 700 courses within 90 days of hire is required.

Experience & Skills: Prior experience in EMS, EMS dispatch, medical terminology, and air medical operations is highly desirable. Familiarity with emergency medical procedures, pre-hospital care equipment, and communications technology is essential. Proficiency in EPIC, Advance Dispatch, Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook is strongly preferred. Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute, clear hearing and speech, and corrected visual acuity of 20/40 or better are necessary. Manual dexterity for keyboard use and the ability to sit for extended periods are also required.
