The Opportunity

CACI is seeking a Technical Writer responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. The role involves writing and editing technical documentation for all project hardware and software, covering installation, configuration, and how‑to guides. It also requires creation of code documentation, implementation guides, end‑user guides, field data definition, and data flow documentation, as well as formatting technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other resources.

Responsibilities

  • Document process improvement and engineering methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization projects.
  • Assist the teams with managing team websites and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop business methods, identifying best practices, and creating and assessing performance documents.
  • Serve as coordinator between multiple scrum teams to support team presentations and demonstrations.
  • Document and track requirements and assist in driving them to completion.
  • Take notes during any Sprint reviews.
  • Track action items.
  • Attend meetings.

Qualifications

  • Document initiatives for process improvements.
  • Ensure style guides are followed in compliance with customer and company proposed standards.
  • Work with customer and developers to document new and existing business processes.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements, processes, and risks.
  • Develop and maintain best practices to meet changing business needs.
  • Understand REST.
  • Understand the software development lifecycle.
  • Read and understand SWAGGER documentation.
  • Read JSON to interpret data modules to end users.
  • Interpret release notes.

Education

  • Eight years’ experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • A master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience, reducing the requirement to six years of experience. Four additional years of Technical Writer experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Desired Skills

  • Ability to brief senior level management on the status of the project.

Pay Range

$84,900 - $178,400
