About the Role

As an Anchor/MMJ, you’ll build a vital connection between a story and your audience. From pitching stories to delivering engaging newscasts, your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of reporting and anchoring. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that creates compelling, timely, accurate, character‑driven content to connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms.

What Anchors/Multimedia Journalists Enjoy Most

  • Striking a balance between reporting and anchoring
  • Going into the field to discover original stories and delivering news in‑studio
  • Telling character‑driven stories that resonate with local communities
  • Working across platforms including TV news, connected television, and digital news

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Television news anchoring - 3+ years, Television news reporting - 5+ years
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field; or comparable television work experience
  • Technical Skills: Video editing, still photography, social media marketing
  • Skills: Reporting and anchoring
  • Abilities: Managing multiple priorities effectively, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds
  • Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
  • Schedule: Work different shifts or longer shifts due to “breaking news” and severe weather emergencies and able to work weekends and holidays
  • Valid driver’s license for authorized driving in the state of residence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a 24‑hour news channel

Working Conditions

  • Works inside in a climate‑controlled environment but may be assigned to field duties and be subjected to various weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
