Public Relations Manager

We create and deliver an aligned, dedicated marketing strategy to fuel each Expedia Group brand's success. As a Public Relations Manager in the U.S., you will be responsible for consumer PR strategy and execution. You’ll develop and carry out creative, highly engaging PR campaigns that resonate strongly with travelers and top‑tier consumer media. You will work closely with stakeholders to protect and promote brand narratives in the U.S. and build brand love among target audiences. You will act as an invaluable advisor on high‑profile marketing campaigns, storytelling opportunities and risks to the brand.

In this role you will possess a strong understanding of the business, consumer and travel media landscape. You will have a keen eye for developing stories and initiatives that will break through the noise. You’ll report to a Senior Manager, Public Relations and work closely with the Global Communications and Marketing teams. You need to have experience in an agency and/or in‑house public relations role as well as possess a can‑do attitude, be self‑driven, and have the ability to learn quickly to yield success.

In This Role You Will

  • Develop and execute strategic PR campaigns and initiatives that achieve standout coverage aligned with key business objectives.
  • Drive integrated communications plans that support brand objectives, working closely with U.S. and global PR colleagues and stakeholders from the broader marketing and communications teams.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the business and stay up to date on trends and developments in the travel industry, including monitoring industry and competitor media coverage.
  • Work closely with the U.S. media relations team on activities across earned, owned and paid channels within PR’s remit.
  • Partner with the global crisis communications team to advise on and help manage reactive PR issues that influence perceptions of the brand and impact the greater Expedia Group business.
  • Manage campaign and project timelines, develop content including press materials and messaging, and create and deliver presentations that drive influence and build support across the business.
  • Analyze and use data and insights to inform storytelling, ensuring a steady drumbeat of always‑on media coverage.
  • Support operational needs, including vendor and agency management, budget management, and development of coverage and status reports.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in PR, Media Relations or Marketing Communications roles in a consumer agency or in‑house environment.
  • Proven record of working successfully in highly matrixed organizations to align PR efforts with broader business objectives.
  • Bias towards action: get things done, analyze insights, provide clarity, and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders effectively and handle fast‑paced environments with quick‑turn timelines and changing requirements.
  • Strong experience in media relations, with excellent understanding of media landscape and key consumer media contacts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to synthesize data into logical conclusions and recommendations to uncover unique storytelling opportunities.
  • Creative thinking and adaptability to match the evolving travel landscape.
  • Background in travel, hospitality, lodging, vacation rental or e‑commerce industry; experience with well‑known brands is a plus.
  • Issues/crisis management experience is a plus.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
