Our longtime client is seeking an in‑house Associate Public Relations Manager who can translate insights into messaging, develop strong media relationships, and ensure every communication touchpoint feels intentional and aligned. You'll craft smart content, lead outreach efforts, collaborate with digital teams, and keep campaigns running seamlessly from concept to execution. This role offers a hybrid work environment, therefore you must be located within the Greater Phoenix Area.
What you will be responsible for
Lead PR Strategy & Media Outreach
- You’ll pitch local, national, and trade outlets while building and maintaining strong media relationships, develop press materials, and monitor relevant industry insights. You’ll support in crafting smart, research‑backed recommendations that elevate visibility and impact.
Own Content Development
- From press releases and award submissions to blogs, social content, and marketing collateral, you’ll create polished, on‑brand content (journalistic writing rooted in AP Style) and strategic messaging.
Drive Social Media Execution
- You’ll help build strategic content calendars, develop fresh concepts, support community engagement, and partner with internal subject matter experts in social to ensure thoughtful, consistent brand presence.
Support Integrated Campaigns
- Work alongside digital marketing teammates to align PR, content, and lead‑generation efforts. PPC expertise isn’t required, but you should understand how PR and marketing fuel one another.
Manage Client Communication & Project Management Workflow
- Act as a reliable point of contact, prepare agendas and status updates, route approvals, coordinate meetings, and keep projects moving with accuracy, clarity, and professionalism.
- You’ll work with internal leaders, subject matter experts, and trusted strategic partners to ensure every deliverable is high‑quality, on time, and on strategy.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in PR, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or relevant field
- 2‑5 years of professional experience in PR, marketing, journalism, communications, etc.
- Strong journalistic writing skills rooted in AP Style (portfolio and samples preferred)
- Proven media pitching success with existing media relationships local to the Phoenix market
- Experience creating and executing integrated social media content for external brands/clients
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders with ease
- High motivation and comfort working virtually and with a collaborative team
- Motivated by accountability and ownership vs being micromanaged
- Familiarity with Cision, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, or Photoshop is a bonus
- A proactive, resourceful, positive attitude and approach with a genuine curiosity to be a lifelong learner and collaborative team player
