TruckPro, LLC, a leader in heavy-duty truck and trailer parts and service, is seeking a versatile Hybrid Service Writer / Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This unique role combines the skills of a service writer with those of a diesel mechanic, making it ideal for individuals who are adept in customer service, detailed documentation, as well as hands-on mechanical repair. The ideal candidate will work closely with clients to assess their service needs, prepare accurate work estimates, and perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of diesel vehicles and trailers, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. Greet customers and gather detailed information about their service needs. Prepare accurate and detailed service estimates and proposals for customer review. Coordinate with parts department to secure necessary components for repairs and maintenance. Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on diesel engines and trailers, including but not limited to brake systems, engines, electrical systems, and HVAC units. Document service and repair processes, and maintain accurate records for customer interactions and transactions. Advise customers on additional maintenance or service needs and future care recommendations for their vehicles. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in the service area. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong knowledge of diesel engine operation, diagnostics, and repair techniques. Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools relevant to diesel engines. Ability to prepare detailed repair estimates and familiarity with billing procedures. Capability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certified Diesel Mechanic (CDM) is preferred. Service Writing certification is a plus. ASE Certification in areas such as Diesel Engines (T2), Medium-Heavy Truck Brakes (T4), and Electrical/Electronic Systems (T6) is highly regarded.
