Basic Function: Kern Community College District accepts applications for part‑time hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis, allowing immediate contact for qualified applicants when a need arises. Applications remain active up to two years.

Representative Duties: This pool will be used to staff part‑time adjunct positions.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s in library science or library and information science, or equivalent. (Support with APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCY if applicable.) Additional criteria: demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds. Degrees must be from accredited institutions; foreign degrees require evaluation.

Knowledge & Abilities:

• Work effectively with colleagues promoting innovation, teaching, learning, and service to diverse students.
• Work with students with varied skills, motivations, academic and vocational goals.
• Develop curriculum, including delivery via different modalities.
• Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges and universities.
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Maintain subject matter currency.
• Assess student learning outcomes.
• Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies benefiting the program.
• Commitment to the California community college mission.
