About the role We are partnering with a B2B insurance and professional services client in Portland, OR to hire a Sales and Marketing Manager. The position is permanent, hybrid, and focuses on establishing the firm’s brand and reputation, curating in‑depth market research and analysis, and serving as a public face of the organization for networking and new business development. You will be a member of the company’s leadership team, conducting research and planning work for the sales function and collaborating with C‑level leaders to implement strategy.

Key responsibilities You will:

Serve as a strategic partner to ownership and leadership, curating market research, building sales infrastructure, and acting as the public face of the organization for new business development.

Engage in the RFP and contracting process, guide proposal development, and sign new business aligned with major company goals.

Develop SOPs and educational resources for staff, prospective clients, and the broader business network to build client base and brand reputation.

Engage actively in local and remote networking groups in the Pacific Northwest and other relevant regions.

Support other operational functions, providing insights to leaders and owners, vetting potential new vendors and technologies, and more.

Required experience Your experience should include:

3+ years of sales, business development, and/or marketing experience in a B2B professional services environment.

Deep comfort in networking and relationship‑based sales, with experience in insurance or similar industries strongly preferred.

High level of research ability and aptitude to become an SME in this unique business model.

Strategic sales and marketing knowledge with experience conducting market research and guiding the proposal and contracting process.

Benefits Base salary ranges from $80,000 to $85,000 annually, with an annual bonus potential of around 10% based on individual and company performance. Benefits include multiple medical, dental, and vision plan offerings, FSA and HSA options, PTO, and more.
