Description:

Summary:

As the Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for executing Golden Entertainment’s social media strategy across assigned properties. Your role will focus heavily on on-site content creation, editing, posting, community engagement, and influencer coordination. You will be embedded in our properties—learning the brand voice, connecting with internal teams, and producing timely and relevant content.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Provide timely and courteous guest service consistent with the company’s guest service culture

Execute the social media calendar for assigned properties, ensuring timely and on-brand content across platforms (IG, FB, X, TikTok, etc.)

Conduct frequent on-property visits to capture high-quality photo and video content featuring events, F&B, gaming, promotions, entertainment, and guest/team engagement

Edit and prepare content for posting across various formats (stories, reels, static posts, short-form video)

Act quickly on trends, viral formats, and timely opportunities to keep content fresh and relevant

Monitor social channels daily, responding to comments, DMs, mentions, and collaboration requests in a timely and brand-appropriate voice

Engage with property pages and audiences to grow reach and maintain active, authentic conversations

Follow and track relevant influencers; perform outreach for potential collaborations

Support communication with influencers regarding deliverables, scheduling, and on-property experiences

Track and analyze performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and insights

Compile monthly performance reports for GE Brand Marketing & property teams

Use data to refine strategy and enhance effectiveness of content and posting cadence

Build strong relationships with property marketing teams, F&B, entertainment, gaming, and operations to stay aligned on upcoming events and storytelling opportunities

Learn each property’s brand voice, goals, promotions, and unique selling points

Assist with day-of event coverage as needed

Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, training, policies and procedures, including Title 31 and federal regulations, if they apply to the position

Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in social media, content creation, or digital marketing; or combination of work experience and education; recent graduates with strong portfolios, internships, or proven passion for social media

Strong familiarity with major social platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and YouTube, with an enthusiasm for new features and trends

Comfortable capturing on-property content—photos, videos, interviews, team moments, events, and promotions—using mobile devices or basic camera equipment

Hungry to learn and grow, with a proactive mindset and excitement for hands-on content creation in fast-paced environments.

Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to understand and follow established brand voice

Comfortable speaking with property teams and interacting with department leads

Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks while adapting quickly to changing needs or trends

Basic proficiency with content editing tools such as:

CapCut

Canva

Adobe Premiere Rush

Requirements

Willing to work flexible hours—including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-driven schedules—as content opportunities arise

At least 21 years of age

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field preferred

Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
