Job Summary
The Assistant Editor will be responsible for ingesting and organizing all incoming material and supporting the Editor with project setup, organization, and media management. Responsible for ensuring a smooth editorial pipeline from the offline edit to conforming all materials for online and final archiving. Understanding and ability to work with dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and visual effects.

Salary Rate Range: $65K – $75K
This role is Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
Responsibilities
- Responsible for tracking incoming camera footage and ingesting footage into the appropriate folder structure.
- Transcode and/or confirm footage is correct and meets project guidelines and pipeline specifications.
- Organize media assets based on the editor’s request, so finding needed footage is quick and effortless.
- Track down specific asset requests that come from the Editors or Production team.
- Conform and export necessary files from the offline edits, to be used by the Sound Mixer and Online Editor/Colorist, and are often responsible for exporting final deliverables.
- Assist the Editor in making changes to the edits based on internal or client feedback.
- Export or compress media that meet pipeline and project specifications for client review, final delivery, or internal purposes.
- Create generic versions of deliverables and track down splits of audio files once the project has been completed.
- Responsible for delivering the final product to the required specifications.
- Archive all footage while managing the overall file structure on our cloud‑based platforms.
- Catalog media and organize it so it can be found quickly when requested, and acts as the main point of contact for producers requesting assets.
- Help manage all incoming transcodes from shoots and maintain proper file structure, allowing for future edits/adaptations.
- Own any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Preferred 2+ years in an editorial role; agency experience a plus.
- Proficiencies in Adobe Premiere.
- Knowledge of After Effects, Resolve, and VFX media and camera raw media.
- Experience with cloud‑based file management and workflows.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Able to take direction well from the editorial and post‑production department.
- Always maintains a positive and professional attitude.
- Able to work under pressure and under deadlines, with strong follow‑through abilities.
- Well‑organized, detail‑oriented, flexible, and helpful, able to multitask, self‑starter.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
- Competent in working in shared network, cloud‑based environments, and structured file systems.
- Some long hours may be required.
- A current reel that conveys both technical ability and creative thought.
