Salary Placement and Work Hours: This is a 12-month, full-time position. Placement will be on the C3 Salary Schedule with a range of $52,613-$103,055, dependent on education and applicable, verifiable work experience. Placement is determined by the President, Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees Policy, and salary schedule guidelines. A hired applicant with an earned doctorate would earn $2,000 per annum, prorated monthly. (The additional benefits package of this position totals an estimated 30% of the salary amount.) The work week is Monday through Friday, with evening and weekend work required at times to ensure student, faculty, and program needs are met. Hours worked will be a minimum of 40 per week.

JOB TITLE: Instructional Designer
FUNCTION: The primary purpose of the Instructional Designer is to assist the Dean of Instruction and QEP Coordinator with a variety of instructional design functions related to the planning, development, and delivery of courses. This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging learning experiences and training programs for full-time and part-time faculty members. This position involves collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), creating instructional materials, and leveraging technology to enhance learning outcomes. The Instructional Designer will comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following: Maintain updated knowledge of accessibility standards and create plans for implementing those standards in online courses Maintain updated knowledge of accreditation and quality assurance standards, such as Suny OSCQR Rubric and the NACC Distance Education Rubric. Work with instructional technology tools to design interactive learning content Manage multiple projects working with subject matter experts to design and build online courses Research instructional design theories and tools for applicability in online teaching and learning Apply instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and learning theories to create effective learning experiences. Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs to assess learning needs and objectives Design and develop instructional content, including e-learning modules, interactive courses, assessments, manuals, and guides Incorporate multimedia elements such as videos, graphics, animations, and simulations into learning materials. Personal Leave All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns up to two (2) regularly scheduled workdays of personal leave per leave year. Unused Personal Leave converts to sick leave if not used. (converts to sick leave at the end of August each year if not used)

Retirement The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. The TRS is a defined benefit plan qualified under Section 401(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Tobacco Usage Premium

Wellness Premium
Member $ 50 Spouse $ 50 The wellness premium applies only to the Blue Cross Blue Shield Hospital Medical Group #14000 plan for non-Medicare eligible active and retired members, non-Medicare-eligible members on LOA or COBRA, and non-Medicare-eligible spouses on active or retired contracts. Refer to the section to learn how you and/or your spouse can receive a wellness premium waiver.
If desired, the employee may elect four options rather than health insurance options to include hospital indemnity, cancer, dental, and vision.

Tuition Assistance This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. An application form for the tuition assistance program is available in the Human Resources office and should be completed prior to registration for classes.
