Structural Designer

At an entry‑level, you will receive mentorship from seasoned professionals and work on projects that move people and goods, transforming communities around the world.
Your Key Responsibilities
Assist the team in preparing drawings, reports, and calculations for bridges and other transportation structures.
Assist the team in preparing project quantity and cost estimates.
Conduct basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and related materials.
Assist in performing bridge load ratings.
Use advanced structural analysis and design software.
Perform engineering duties on projects of various complexity as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
Monitor own work to ensure staying on schedule.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
General understanding of relevant concepts of structural engineering.
Experience in Open Bridge Modeler and/or AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred).
Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills.
Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting, engaging in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicating concepts and ideas to others.
Takes initiative on tasks and coordinates with other members of the design team.
Ability to create and interpret sketches, drawings, and various elements.
Some working knowledge of design codes.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
EIT (or pending) preferred (not required).
Minimum of 0‑2 years of experience; co‑op/internship experience preferred.
