Job Type:
Full Time Location:
New York City Reports To:
Chief Commercial Officer Annual Salary:
$140,000 - $175,000
Role Summary Volo Sports is one of the fastest-growing social sports and experiences platforms in the country. We’re looking for a Performance Marketing Leader who can elevate our acquisition engine, challenge the status quo, and scale our multi-market footprint with a rigorous, data‑driven approach. As the leader of Performance Marketing, you will own all paid growth channels, partnering closely with Brand Growth, Retention/Lifecycle Marketing, B2B, Creative, and Local Market teams to drive efficient, high‑quality demand. You’ll architect our performance strategy, roll up your sleeves to execute campaigns, and build a best‑in‑class measurement and testing framework.
Performance Marketing Strategy & Execution
Own end‑to‑end strategy for paid acquisition across digital and offline channels (paid social, paid search, display, video, influencers, OOH, partnerships, etc.).
Drive channel mix decisions, evaluating where performance marketing is most effective and when it should not be used.
Be hands‑on with campaign management—briefing creative, building audiences, optimizing budgets, and driving measurable improvements.
Build and maintain a rigorous test‑and‑learn roadmap, constantly experimenting across channels, creative, messaging, and audiences.
Measurement, Analytics & Optimization
Develop a best‑in‑class performance measurement structure: attribution, incrementality testing, CAC:LTV modeling, cohort analysis, and dashboarding.
Own forecasting and performance reporting, ensuring strong visibility across C‑suite and cross‑functional teams.
Analyze media mix effectiveness, channel saturation points, and customer journey nuances specific to the Volo product.
Translate complex insights into actionable recommendations for leadership and partners.
Cross‑Functional Partnership
Collaborate with Brand Growth on integrated campaigns and funnel consistency.
Partner with Retention/Lifecycle Marketing to create seamless acquisition‑to‑retention journeys that maximize revenue and reduce churn.
Work closely with Creative and Content teams to identify high‑converting assets, ensure rapid iteration, and surface insights that inform future storytelling.
Align with Local Market teams to understand regional nuances, demand patterns, local budgets, and off‑channel opportunities. Large focus on creating lead gen for the B2B offering.
Leadership & Team Development
Educate peers and leaders on performance marketing best practices, frameworks, and channel economics.
Build scalable processes, playbooks, and accountability systems that level up the entire commercial organization.
Potentially build and manage a small team as Volo’s footprint and needs expand.
Channel Innovation & Future‑Proofing
Stay ahead of emerging platforms, tools, and consumer behavior shifts.
Identify opportunities in new channels (connected TV, experiential, creator commerce, local OOH, partnership‑based acquisition, etc.).
Push the organization to embrace experimentation and challenge outdated definitions of “good performance.”
Expected Skill Set & Experience
6‑10+ years of experience in performance marketing, growth marketing, or digital acquisition, ideally with a consumer, hospitality, sports, or experience‑focused brand.
Track record of owning multi‑million‑dollar budgets and driving efficient CAC and strong LTV.
Hands‑on experience managing campaigns across Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging paid channels; comfort with offline channels highly preferred.
Deep expertise in analytics and measurement (attribution, MMM, incrementality, cohort modeling).
Strong partnership skills with creative, brand, and cross‑functional teams.
Obsessed with experimentation, data, and understanding consumer motivations.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with daily tactical execution.
Entrepreneurial, curious, and energized by fast‑paced, high‑growth environments.
