Senior Structural Designer – Garg Consulting Services, Inc.
Founded in 1990, Garg is a multidisciplinary engineering firm specializing in railroad and transit projects with offices in Rocky Hill, CT and Princeton, NJ. We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Designer to join our teams in Connecticut, New Jersey, or New York.
Salary Base pay range:
$100,000.00/yr – $160,000.00/yr . Sign‑on bonus and 401(k) match available.

Responsibilities
Lead design and analysis of structural components and systems for bridges and transportation infrastructure
Conduct complex load rating analysis and structural evaluations
Prepare contract drawings, specifications, and detailed engineering calculations
Perform site inspections and assessments for new and rehabilitative design
Coordinate design efforts with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
Review project plans for compliance with applicable standards and specifications
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across project phases
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
EIT certification required; PE license strongly preferred
Minimum 5–10 years of structural design experience, including bridge design and load rating analysis
Proficiency with structural analysis software (SAP2000, STAAD, CSiBridge) and CAD platforms (AutoCAD, MicroStation)
Experience with CTDOT, NJDOT, or NYSDOT design standards preferred
Strong knowledge of AASHTO, AREMA, and other applicable codes
Excellent technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality, detailed, and code‑compliant work
Screenings Final candidates are required to undergo a background check and a pre‑employment drug screening that may include employment and education verification, reference checks, and a criminal history check as allowed by law.
