Base pay range $175,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

Role We are looking for an Associate Creative Director, Performance Marketing to join the creative team at Whatnot. The team is responsible for building the Whatnot brand and crafting best‑in‑class creative across physical and digital experiences. As a core member of the team, you’ll lead the strategy, development, and execution of high‑performing creative assets across international marketing channels. The role requires a collaborative, data‑driven creative leader who experiments, optimizes and pushes the boundaries of performance marketing.

Oversee end‑to‑end processes, from initial brainstorms to final handoff, delivering work that drives conversion and engagement.

Establish a steady pipeline of relevant, high‑performing creative at a global scale for ongoing testing and iteration that balances performance goals with brand ambitions.

Analyze performance data and testing results to uncover insights, refining creative direction and strategies, driving better outcomes.

Stay ahead of trends, emerging platforms, and creative best practices.

Provide feedback and guidance to team members and external partners, fostering collaboration.

Manage relationships with external agencies and contractors as needed to scale creative production efficiently.

Candidate We look for a low‑ego, growth‑mindset, high‑impact driver. 10+ years of experience in performance creative roles with emphasis on paid social, plus the following:

2‑4+ years in a lead role executing projects independently, including in‑house experience at a multi‑sided brand.

Proven track record of leading creative development from concept to execution, articulating strategies to creators, designers, copywriters, and video editors.

Deep understanding of audience behavior and digital marketing trends across all ad platforms.

Skilled at interpreting performance data, leveraging analytics tools to refine creative strategies.

Experienced with performance marketing budgets and campaigns at scale, capable of pivoting as priorities shift.

React promptly to cultural moments with timely, relevant social content.

Thrives in a fast‑paced environment, motivated by creativity and results.

Passion for exploring how brands intersect with culture.

Naturally curious and proactive, with a growth mindset and high standard for quality.

Ability to thrive on feedback and elevate work consistently.

Preferred: experience at high‑growth startups, marketplaces or creator‑focused platforms.

Flexibility Flexibility to work from home or from one of our global office hubs. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of our San Francisco, New York, or Los Angeles hubs.
