Senior Water Design Manager
to lead water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects in Texas.
Job Overview The Senior Water Design Manager will manage technical delivery of treatment plants, pump stations, and hydraulic structures. This role offers significant growth opportunities and requires a self‑motivated engineer with strong client relationship skills.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical execution of treatment plant and pump station projects.
Serve as lead designer for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
Perform conceptual design, hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, and develop final design drawings and specifications.
Coordinate with clients, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary teams throughout all project phases.
Engage in Arcadis’ national process mechanical practice, provide technical expertise regionally, and mentor junior engineers.
Perform quality assurance/control reviews to maintain our quality culture.
Establish and maintain client relationships, support marketing and pursuit efforts, and manage scoping and budgeting tasks.
Travel may be required to project sites, client meetings, conferences, etc.
Key Skills and Attributes
Exceptional technical expertise in designing water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure—including treatment plants and pump stations.
Strong written, oral, and technical writing communication skills.
Experience managing preparation, review, and approval of final design deliverables (reports, drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates).
Proven client relationship management, including proposal development.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Required Qualifications
10 years of pump station design experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
Texas PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years of experience; Master’s degree or MBA in relevant field.
Proven delivery track record for large and complex water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with industry standards (AWWA, TCEQ, Hydraulic Institute Standards).
Experience working with key clients in Texas.

Salary Salary range: $102,065 – $173,510 (actual salary based on experience, education, budget, location).
