Event Planning Manager

to join the Event Planning team. The ideal Event Planning Manager will use your knowledge of current trends in event management and event design to work with our clients (from contract signing, event execution through client retention) to plan, execute and manage exceptional events. You will work on meetings, events, conferences, galas and social events for 50-3500 guests. Essential Functions

As an Event Planning Manager you will help work within the client's budget, timeline, and expectations to plan and manage events; collaborate and manage relationships with sales, vendors, clients and team members; create detailed BEOs outlining setup, food, beverage, A/V production, IT, security needs, and other miscellaneous items as required; review billing and post‑event analysis. Event management also includes but is not limited to: conducting site visits, in‑person and virtual client meetings, event tastings, and being onsite for set‑up, day‑off, and tear‑down of event as required. Event Planning Managers work collaboratively as part of the Sales and Event Planning Team as well as with other departments within our organization. In addition to working with clients to plan, execute and implement their events, the Event Planning Manager will be required to work on special projects (as assigned) to support our organization. Job Requirements

At least 3‑5 years of event planning or hospitality experience is required Previous customer service, event planning, and hospitality experience preferably in a hotel or large venue Proficiency using a CRM system and diagramming software Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite Knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Teams are a plus Become familiar with all assigned events: review contract and discuss the event with the appropriate sales manager prior to contacting the client for the first time Ensure all proposals, Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for all events and written communication are accurate and delivered to clients in the required timeframe Constantly and clearly communicate with all other departments regarding details of upcoming events Excellent presentation, organizational, negotiation and communication skills. Ability to upsell, recommend and coordinate additional services and enhance food and beverage offerings Must be adaptable, professional, courteous, motivated and work well on your own and as a member of a team Knowledge of the DC Metro business community Conduct site visits and maintain familiarity with the building and its capabilities Prepare customized menu proposals as requested by guests in consultation with the Executive Chef Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering exceptional quality and customer service
