The

Senior Associate, Digital Communications

manages digital content, develops and implements social media plans, designs digital assets, and supports the program’s overall communication strategy. This position reports to the Head of External Engagement, Aspen Digital.

This is a hybrid, Washington, DC‑based role. Selected candidates are expected to work in person at the Washington, DC office approximately two days per week. Salary range: $70,000–$85,000 per year.

What You Will Do

Develop and implement social media plans, including specific campaigns around public‑facing summits.

Plan, draft, edit, and schedule content for LinkedIn, BlueSky, X, and other channels to grow followers and deepen engagement.

Create original digital assets—including social media graphics and video content—using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other creative design platforms, while following Aspen Digital’s brand guidelines.

Capture and generate social media content from in‑person and virtual events for live sharing and recaps.

Support leaders’ social media content creation by proposing ideas and drafting copy.

Collaborate with the Associate Director of Brand Strategy and Marketing on communication rollouts and other campaigns.

Maintain a digital content calendar aligned with program goals, announcements, publications, summits, events, and milestones.

Identify and track annual, six‑month, and quarterly social media KPIs, supporting the Head of External Engagement in meeting objectives.

Monitor post performance and audience interaction, engaging with comments and related content from contacts and organizations.

Track emerging social media trends and influencers.

Coordinate digital communications and materials for events, such as presentation slides and signage.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need To Thrive

3–5 years of experience in social media, digital and strategic communications, or journalism.

Track record of content creation, account maintenance, and audience engagement.

Strong organization and time‑management skills, managing multiple projects and deadlines without compromising detail or quality.

Excellent copywriting and copyediting abilities.

Proficiency in graphic design best practices and creative software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.).

Knowledge of content‑management platforms (e.g., Hootsuite).

Proactive, self‑motivated, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Ability to build professional relationships across departments and seniority levels.

Strong interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills.

Detail‑oriented and quality‑focused.

Preferred Background

Interest or experience in AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technology.

Experience overseeing or working on long‑term digital communication campaigns.

Experience launching and growing audiences for new social media channels.

Knowledge of smart practices for LinkedIn.
