The Director of Corporate Communications is responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that strengthens and evolves PMI’s reputation and presence in the U.S. market. This role leads the U.S. Corporate (Enterprise) Communications team, which includes three core areas of work:

Enterprise & Executive Communications

Press Office

Crisis & Issues Management

Together the team drives corporate and executive positioning, manages our strategic earned, owned, and partner campaigns, oversees third‑party events and engagements, and leads crisis and issues response.

Day To Day

Develop and lead an integrated corporate communications strategy aligned with business objectives and day‑to‑day operations, while driving innovation and agility across the function.

Direct the strategic planning and execution of enterprise communications, executive visibility, crisis & issues management, and press office operations.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic communications guidance and fostering strong internal and external partnerships.

Advance PMI U.S.’s corporate reputation through initiative‑taking executive visibility initiatives and strategic narrative development.

Build trust and alignment with internal and external stakeholders, including C‑suite leaders, media, agencies, and the public.

Ensure team structures and processes support agile, real‑time execution; continuously adapt to evolving business needs and external dynamics.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing corporate communications team, fostering growth and alignment with departmental and individual goals.

Oversee planning and allocation of resources to ensure efficient execution and measurable impact.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 12+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, ideally within a U.S.‑listed company.

Proven success in developing and executing high‑impact communications strategies.

Strong media relations and crisis management expertise.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership in managing and motivating diverse teams.

Experience across both agency and in‑house communications environments.

Competitive base salary of $217,500 – $290,000 plus annual bonus (based on level of position).
