Director Sales & Marketing – The LaSalle Chicago Autograph Collection The Director of Sales & Marketing has direct oversight of planning and managing the overall sales and marketing for this full‑service hotel. The role seeks to achieve optimal occupancy, growth in existing accounts, and new business, maximizing total revenue and meeting or exceeding hotel profit objectives. It includes day‑to‑day operations of the sales division, direct sales efforts, follow‑up, sales administration and training, forecasting, budgeting, marketing, and program development for the hotel.

The Hotel features 232 rooms and 5,500 square feet of event space.

Education & Experience

At least 6 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred, or a 4‑year college degree with 2 years of related experience, or a 2‑year college degree with 4 years of related experience.

Full‑service hotel sales & marketing experience in a leadership role.

Highly developed verbal and written communication skills for negotiation, selling, and influencing.

Proficient in professional selling techniques: opening, probing, supporting, closing.

Strong analytical skills and strategic vision in sales deployment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and other general computer knowledge.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong organization and presentation skills.

Experience managing diverse teams and solving complex problems.

Knowledge of sales/marketing/hospitality principles and practices.

Ability to remain composed under pressure and read financial data.

Job Duties & Functions

Coordinate group, transient, association, SMERF, and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize revenue.

Develop, recommend, implement and manage the division’s annual budget and marketing, advertising, and sales plans to meet revenue and profit goals.

Conduct outside sales calls, sales tours, and client engagements.

Negotiate contract terms and develop market awareness for revenue opportunities.

Monitor top accounts, evaluate market trends, and adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality standards.

Achieve individual and team sales goals and budgeted metrics.

Train hotel staff on recognizing and capitalizing on sales opportunities.

Manage Human Resources within the division: hire, train, develop, coach, conduct performance reviews, and resolve issues.

Supervise Catering & Event Management Team (if applicable) to meet or exceed room, F&B, and meeting budgets.

Understand hotel operations and policies across sales, F&B, front office, and reservations.

Maintain community visibility and relationships with marketing partners and internal departments.

Attend and conduct regular meetings and provide rotating training as needed.

Travel weekly as required.

Act on behalf of the General Manager in their absence and perform additional duties as requested.
