VP of Space and Design, 2 Hour Learning (Remote)
Company:
Crossover
Location:
Remote, U.S. (travel 50–75% of the time)
Compensation:
$200,000 per year (base pay $100/hr, 40 hrs/week, 50 weeks/year)
We are building a nationwide network of 2 Hour Learning campuses—spaces where students complete a full academic day in two focused hours and then pursue practical learning and physical activity. The VP of Space and Design will lead the creation and deployment of modular design frameworks so each campus is memorable, functional, and brand‑consistent.
What you will be doing
Establish modular, self‑service design frameworks for layout, FF&E, finishes, play areas, and wayfinding that work across varied campus environments.
Perform on‑site evaluations using standardized assessment tools to measure alignment with brand standards and identify high‑value enhancements.
Produce detailed, visual, budgeted recommendations for spatial improvements supporting pedagogy, brand identity, and family engagement.
Manage vendor implementation on‑site, ensuring adherence to design standards, financial parameters, and schedules through active quality assurance.
Complete the feedback cycle after installation by recording successes, failures, and revising operational guides to reflect lessons learned.
What you won’t be doing
Designing custom, boutique environments that cannot be systematically scaled or duplicated.
Delivering specifications and disengaging—own the entire process from evaluation through installation.
Waiting for complete information—value proactive thinking, rapid iteration, and sound judgment under uncertainty.
Generating unrestricted creative concepts—work is tightly aligned with brand identity and operational requirements.
Operating remotely—70% of your time will be spent traveling and working on‑site.
Key responsibilities Guarantee that each campus provides a premium, brand‑consistent, pedagogically effective physical environment through scalable modular design systems that maintain quality standards.
Basic requirements
5+ years designing and implementing multi‑site environments in education, retail, hospitality, or co‑working sectors.
Portfolio of completed projects that integrate aesthetic excellence with operational feasibility.
Proven ability to develop scalable, standards‑driven design systems rather than singular custom environments.
Hands‑on vendor implementation management, including quality control of installations and adherence to project timelines.
Excellent documentation and communication skills with cross‑functional teams, particularly non‑design partners.
Available and willing to travel extensively (50–75% of the time) throughout the United States.
U.S.–based and authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship.
Nice‑to‑have requirements
Experience designing premium environments with rigorous quality expectations, such as boutique hospitality, luxury retail, or high‑end residential projects.
Proficiency with spatial documentation platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, Figma, or comparable tools.
Intuitive ability to identify what elevates a space to premium quality, even within constrained budgets.
About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be. They’re tearing down the outdated one‑size‑fits‑all model, replacing it with AI‑driven personalized learning that helps kids master academics in just two hours a day.
With students consistently ranking in the top 1–2% nationally and the top 20% achieving an astonishing 6.5x growth, 2 Hour Learning demonstrates that smarter learning is possible. The environment is dynamic, on‑campus and remote‑friendly, where innovators, educators, and AI specialists can help fix a broken school system.
