Director of Sales & Marketing – Grand Hyatt Deer Valley The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is located in the famed Deer Valley ski resort, approximately 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. The property is part of a world‑class development featuring 17 ski lifts, around 1,600 residential units, 8 hotels with a total of 1,350 rooms, 250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the largest ski beaches on the planet.

The Hyatt is comprised of 436 luxury accommodations, including 381 guest rooms and 55 residential units, and offers 30,000 square feet of versatile indoor meeting space, a lobby‑level 3‑meal restaurant and bar, signature bar, pool/après ski bar and grill, coffee bistro, large outdoor event terrace, and modern fitness area. Responsibilities

Oversee the Sales, Marketing, and Events budget and P&L, ensuring profitability and alignment with revenue goals.

Manage revenue forecasting and develop short‑term and long‑term strategies to increase market share.

Lead digital, print, PR, and social media marketing initiatives; partner with agencies and evaluate marketing effectiveness.

Develop the annual business plan and support owner relations.

Recruit, hire, train, and coach sales, marketing, and event staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to Hyatt standards.

Supervise group and transient contract processes, including quoting rates, retention, and reactivation of accounts.

Represent the hotel as the senior customer‑facing contact for current and prospective clients, conducting site inspections and client entertainment.

Qualifications

Six or more years of progressive hotel sales experience, preferably with Hyatt.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse socio‑economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.

Previous hotel pre‑opening experience preferred.

Demonstrated capability to develop and execute an annual business plan.

Experience managing Sales, Marketing, and Events P&L.

Expertise in revenue forecasting and business strategy development.

Proven ability to train and supervise sales, event, and marketing managers.

Competence in marketing plan production and evaluation for revenue impact.

Experience serving as a senior client‑facing representative, including site inspections and entertainment.

Results‑driven, energetic, and focused with a service‑oriented style.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.

Comfortable with sales and revenue systems/programs.

Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required.
