Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Marketing Manager at Whalen Furniture. The
Senior Marketing Manager
will lead and oversee multiple B2B marketing efforts in partnership with our divisional leads to drive sales of Whalen products in retailer stores (including but not limited to Lowes, Home Depot, and Walmart). The ideal candidate would have the ability to translate data and analytics to drive innovation and growth. This role will be focused on day-to-day account management, go-to-market planning, and the development of campaigns that fuel sales of our retail partners. Responsibilities also include managing and optimizing retail content marketing, owned and paid marketing channels, including paid media, organic social media, and paid social media/influencer strategy. Knowledge of marketing optimization, project management, automation tools, and best practices is key.
RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Planning + Retail Marketing/Collaboration
Partner cross-functionally (product, sales, design, retail) to develop and execute marketing plans for new product launches across retail channels.
Act as a key liaison between Whalen and retail partner marketing teams to develop and optimize promotional strategies, i.e., promotional calendars, digital placement opportunities, product detail pages, and seasonal push periods.
Leverage data and market insights to shape campaign strategy and proactively identify growth opportunities.
Own marketing briefs, calendars, launch plans, and data synthesis.
Campaign Development & Execution
Lead the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns in partnership with internal teams and external agencies/vendors.
Manage and optimize marketing channel mix (e.g., digital ads, retail media, SEO/SEM, influencer, social, in-store signage) to maximize awareness, engagement, and sales lifts.
Asset Development & Brand Stewardship
Maximize content development in support of rich retail and product in-store and online experiences.
Oversee the team's design, development, and delivery of marketing assets, including product copy, packaging messaging, sell-in tools, digital banners, and POS materials to support retailers and internal sales teams.
Maintain brand consistency across touchpoints while adapting assets to each retailer’s unique standards and customer base.
Marketing Operations
Establish, build, and operationalize project management systems and workflows, such as Asana or Monday.com.
Manage vendor relationships and performance; support the assessment and onboarding of new platforms, tools, and software (e.g., DAM, CRM, analytics, social media platforms, marketing automation).
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., CAN‑SPAM, privacy laws, retailer standards).
Measurement & Reporting
Track and report on key KPIs (campaign ROI, product launch impact, retailer engagement, digital performance, brand health).
Share insights to optimize future marketing investments and team productivity.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
6–10 years of progressive marketing experience, ideally in a
consumer goods ,
furniture/home goods , or
retail/vendor partnership
environment.
Strong understanding of
omnichannel marketing , retail execution, and merchandising.
Experience developing product launch toolkits, packaging, POS, and digital assets tailored to retailer needs.
Proficient in
digital marketing strategy , including email, SEO/SEM, paid social, influencer marketing, and website management.
Familiarity with
content syndication tools
(e.g., Syndigo, Salsify),
DAM systems , and retailer content compliance standards.
Experience using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Power BI, Looker, or Tableau) to assess campaign performance and customer behavior.
Strong ability to interpret data and present actionable insights to inform marketing decisions.
Experience managing creative agencies, freelancers, or vendor partners, including writing briefs and overseeing deliverables.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to create compelling internal and external presentations.
Preferred skills and qualifications
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
Previous experience with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint desired
Experienced with A+ content creation; specific Syndigo CXH experience a plus
