Audio Visual Operations Manager - Chicago

We review all resumes; however, candidates with experience in the following areas are strongly preferred:
- Hotel/Corporate in-house AV
- Hotel/Corporate freelance AV
- Convention centers, tradeshows, sporting arenas, exclusive event venues
Operational / Technical Expectations
- 1–2 years of AV management experience within a hospitality-focused environment (hotels, conference centers, meeting facilities)
- Support the Director of Event Technology in daily hotel AV operations and team oversight
- Build strong relationships with hotel management, support staff, clients, event planners, and KVL leadership
- Manage scheduling for hotel AV technicians
Sales Responsibilities
- Strong AV sales experience with exceptional attention to detail
- Generate new business opportunities within the hotel and surrounding markets
- Prospect, solicit RFPs, and prepare accurate quotes
Inventory Responsibilities
- Oversee AV equipment inventory
- Source and negotiate cross-rentals and ensure their safe return
- Coordinate logistics for all incoming/outgoing equipment
- Maintain open communication with other KVL property inventories
Technical Knowledge
- Audio: Advanced understanding; ability to step into basic audio roles on analog and digital consoles
- Video: Advanced understanding; capable of basic switching, projection, and GFX operations
- Lighting: Advanced understanding; capable of basic dimming, spot lighting, stage washing, and up-lighting to enhance room ambience
