Responsibilities The OPS Instructional Designer supports the design, development, and enhancement of learning assets for the Greater Resilience of the Workforce (GROW) Center and other Institute initiatives. This role provides flexible instructional design and multimedia support for ad‑hoc projects such as e‑learning modules, infographics, job aids, and course enhancements. Work is assigned as needed to meet project timelines and deliverables, with variable weekly hours depending on workload and funding availability.

Instructional Design & Development:

Design and develop engaging, accessible e‑learning content using tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Genially, Schoox, Camtasia, and Vyond. Apply adult learning principles and instructional systems design (ISD) models to create learner‑centered materials.

Multimedia & Visual Asset Creation:

Produce and adapt visual materials including graphics, animations, videos, and job aids to support both online and instructor‑led learning.

Collaboration & Review:

Work with Institute program leads, subject matter experts (SMEs), and communications staff to ensure instructional quality, brand consistency, and accessibility compliance (Section 508/ADA).

Technology & Systems Support:

Assist in uploading and maintaining courses within the learning management system (LMS), testing content functionality, and ensuring user experience quality.

Continuous Improvement:

Contribute feedback and creative ideas to improve FICW’s instructional products and support innovation in workforce learning design.

Team Participation:

Attend team meetings and project check‑ins as needed; maintain communication on progress, timelines, and project deliverables.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.

Minimum of two years of experience in instructional design, e‑learning development, or related field.

Demonstrated experience with e‑learning authoring tools (Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline) and multimedia applications (Camtasia, Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite).

Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional systems design models, and accessibility standards.

Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills.

Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, or related discipline.

Experience designing content for human services or higher education audiences.

Familiarity with Smartsheet, Qualtrics, and/or LMS platforms (Schoox or similar).

Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Anticipated Salary Range $50/Hour
