Architectural Designer – Seattle, WA
Huayu is seeking an Architectural Designer to design, and develop residential building details, such as condominiums, single houses and townhouses, and associate with other professionals for ongoing projects.
Check detailed drawings of architectural and structural features of buildings. Some job duties include:
Work closely with associated architectural and/or engineering team to prepare scale drawings for projects.
Use knowledge of building materials, engineering practices, to complete drawings.
Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to lists of materials.
Determine quality, cost, strength, and quantity of required materials, and enter figures on materials lists.
Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of required materials.
Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs and generate a specific presentation to graphically interpret the building plans.
Create freehand drawings and lettering to clarify drawings.
Explain drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary.
Lay out interior space designs for residential buildings, using drafting equipment and related software.
Prepare colored drawings of landscape and interior designs for ongoing projects.
Review sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data to ensure that they integrate with design concepts.
Coordinate information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, or construction time.
Consult with architect to determine functional or spatial requirements of structures.
Meet with architect to review or discuss architectural drawings.
Perform other related duties as needed.
Educational Requirement and Experience
Bachelor's or higher degree in architecture.
Five years of relevant job duties and the following requirement experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Familiarity of Seattle and surrounding jurisdiction permitting process and building codes.
Deep understanding of residential construction and the design-build process.
Strong communication, organization, and expertise with construction coordination processes, common site logistics issues, building systems.
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and serve as the primary point of contact with clients and consultant teams.
Be capable of creating and maintaining project schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, building codes, and other technical products and material specifications.
