Responsibilities
As a Photojournalist, you will:
- Work with a team of talented journalists to shoot and edit material for newscasts.
- Elevate stories by incorporating footage with fresh angles, lighting, and points of view.
- Create compelling, timely, and accurate content across traditional and digital platforms.
- Cover local events, connecting with neighbors to capture footage.
- Collaborate with editors and producers to integrate visual stories into broadcasts.
Qualifications
- Experience: Shooting and editing television news footage – 5+ years.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience.
- Technical Skills: Operation of ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming.
- Skills: Knowledge of how to clearly communicate solutions and ability to relate to diverse populations.
- Abilities: Positive attitude, eagerness to solve problems, lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, ability to distinguish colors and discern sounds.
- Travel Ability: Must be open to travel within the neighborhood and interact with the community.
- Schedule: Ability to work different shifts, be flexible with schedule changes, cover standby responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence.
Preferred Qualifications
- DSNG experience.
Working Conditions
- Works inside in a climate-controlled environment and outside throughout the year and may be subjected to various weather conditions including extreme heat or cold.
- Drives company vehicle to and from different locations in a safe manner by obeying all traffic laws.
