Overview

Photojournalist - Spectrum News 1 role at Spectrum News. You’ll work with a team of journalists to shoot and edit material for newscasts and across platforms.

Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit material for newscasts.
• Elevate stories with fresh angles, lighting, and points of view.
• Collaborate with a team to create compelling, timely, and accurate content for traditional and digital platforms.
• Work independently and with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience: Shooting and editing television news footage - 5+ years
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience
• Technical Skills: Operation of ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming
• Skills: Clear communication; ability to relate to diverse populations
• Abilities: Positive attitude and problem-solving; lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds; ability to distinguish colors and discern sounds
• Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to cover important stories in the neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
• Schedule: Ability to work different shifts, be flexible with schedule changes, and cover standby responsibilities when assigned
• Driver’s license: Valid driver’s license for authorized driving in the state of residence

• DSNG experience

Working Conditions

• Works inside in a climate-controlled environment and outside throughout the year; may be exposed to various weather conditions
• Drives company vehicle to and from locations, obeying traffic laws

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $20.00/hr - $33.10/hr. The actual compensation offered will be based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums; certain positions may be eligible for bonuses or other incentive-based compensation.
