Wireless Telecommunications Design Lead This position at Jacobs offers a competitive base salary range of $91,400.00/yr to $125,600.00/yr, determined by skills, experience, and location.

This role will provide technical design leadership for wireless telecommunications systems in data center buildings, including Commercial DAS, Public Safety DAS, LMR, Site Radio, RoIP, Wi‑Fi, and Tower Studies.

Key Responsibilities

Design wireless systems using iBwave and EDX.

Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages.

Coordinate with AHJs, Radio System Owners, and carriers.

Create or modify DIV 27 specifications.

Conduct site visits and review technical documents.

Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure projects are completed on time.

Provide technical design leadership across the entire design process.

Core Qualifications

Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum 5 years of active design experience in wireless telecommunications systems, including LMR, Public Safety DAS, and Commercial DAS.

Minimum 5 years of experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner, or a combination of modeling tools.

Experience working with clients to identify wireless communications needs.

Familiarity troubleshooting wireless system issues, interpreting Noise Floor, SNIR, Return Loss, and VSWR.

Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 1221, NFPA 1225, IFC §510, Carrier KPIs, IBC, FCC Part 20 & 90, OET Bulletin 65, MOTOTRBO systems, Motorola R56 standards, and DMR Tier III.

Experience with Navisworks.

Self‑motivation and excellent project management skills.

Familiarity responding to RFPs, creating budgets, maintaining schedules, and mitigating risk.

iBwave Level 2 certification (required).

Preferred Additional Experience

Designing Wi‑Fi systems.

EDX or Motorola design certifications.

FCC GROL.

NICET Design Certification.

Multiple OEM product certifications.

Electrical or Communication Engineering degree.

EIT or PE.
