Job Description
The Head of Social Media is responsible for spearheading the strategic planning and execution of all social media initiatives across Major Food Group’s portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Brand and Creative Marketing, this role is centered on the development and implementation of robust social media strategies that are in harmony with the company’s overarching brand and marketing goals. The Head of Social Media will actively monitor and engage with the company’s audience through digital storytelling; cultivating brand loyalty and strengthening the online community.
Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy and Involvement
Develop and maintain a detailed social media calendar across all internal brands, planning content approximately 30 days in advance
Participate in marketing campaign ideation and translate initiatives into social media strategies and executions
Manage photography/photoshoot budgets per concept
Lead the 2026 launch strategy for new brand handles
Proactively identify trends and opportunities that align with the Major Food Group brand voice and vision
Content Management and Execution
Oversee grid planning, ensuring consistent and cohesive visual representation across all the platforms
Curate and schedule content including images, carousels, and reels for each concept, aligned with holidays, promotions, and cultural moments
Write captions and populate the content calendar for internally managed accounts
Manage all scheduling, posting, and performance tracking via social media management platforms
Coordinate and oversee collaboration posts across all brands and partners
Community Management
Monitor and engage across all social channels, ensuring timely and thoughtful responses
Track direct messages and mentions, repost relevant user-generated content, and engage with fellow MFG brand pages
Develop and maintain a formalized response library to ensure consistent brand voice.
Flag and elevate any negative comments or guest concerns to General Managers and Guest Relations as appropriate
Agency and Partner Oversight
Serve as point of contact and project lead for external agencies managing non-internally run accounts
Analytics and Reporting
Create and review monthly performance reports, pulling key insights to optimize content strategy
Use analytics to understand audience demographics, engagement drivers, and content effectiveness
Align organic strategy with paid social targeting in partnership with the digital marketing team
Content and Photoshoots
Assist in identifying and securing all levels of content creators and delivery of assets
Attend photoshoots / events as needed
Requirements
5+ years of experience in managing social media strategy for lifestyle, luxury or hospitality brands
Strong understanding of content trends, digital analytics tools, and audience engagement strategies
Mastery of social media software (BrandWatch)
Awareness of copyright laws and music legalities as it pertains to Meta
Creative, strategic, and highly organized
Excellent writing, communication, and leadership skills
Experience working with agencies, photographers, and creative vendors
Hands‑on, collaborative, and agile approach to leadership
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Compensation: $115,000 - $125,000 annually based on experience.
