The senior broadcast producer will play a key role helping to devise the editorial and booking strategy and coordinate show production for the program, as well as travel to and manage complex field shoots when the show is on the road, etc.Candidates should have strong editorial judgement, staff management experience, excel at logistics and planning, have field experience, and be comfortable managing a control room. The position is based at the network's studios in Washington, DCDuties & Responsibilities:Assists executive producer and anchor in setting show's editorial directionPitches story ideas and makes guest booking suggestionsHelp build rundowns for regular programming as well as breaking news and special programmingCoordinates the team: line producers, associate producers, writers, editors and other staffWrites scripts and produces own segmentsCopy edits scripts and contentManage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teamsHelps implement training and best practices for show teamProvides ongoing mentoring and support to members of the show teamServe as on-site senior producer during field shoots or remote broadcastsPerforms special projects and other duties as assigned by network managementMay act as Executive Producer in his/her absenceRequirements & Skills:Ten or more years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital)Line producing and segment producing experience a plusMust be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of peopleMust be detail-orientedMust have strong organizational skillsMust have excellent writing and copy-editing skillsMust have considerable line producing experienceMust have field producing experience.Segment producing and package producing experience are also helpfulMust be able to handle high pressure and high intensity situations with poise and maturityMust be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings and weekends/holidaysSalary Range: $150,000 - $170,000Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
