Breeze Editor-in-Chief - IE Join the College of Arts and Letters at James Madison University as the Editor-in-Chief for The Breeze for the upcoming academic year.

Position is part-time Institutional Employment, Non-Exempt. Start date April 1; training during March. Must be back on campus two weeks prior to fall semester.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the staff in creating online and print journalism about James Madison University.

Oversee section editors.

Make editorial and coverage decisions.

Uphold journalistic ethics and standards.

Qualifications

Served on The Breeze staff as a section editor for at least one semester.

Ability to lead a team toward a common goal.

Strong writing, editing, and content‑management skills.

Ability to meet deadlines.

Conditions of Employment Students must be degree‑seeking and enrolled at least half‑time (6 credits undergraduate, 5 credits graduate).

After acceptance, new hires must complete an I‑9 and provide work‑authorization documents. James Madison University uses the E‑Verify system.
