Physician - Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Comprehensive Optometrist with Dry‑Eye Focus (Open Rank/Track Faculty) The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a comprehensive optometrist with a strong interest and expertise in dry eye care to join the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Academic rank and track will be commensurate with academic record and experience.

Position Overview The Havener Eye Institute at The Ohio State University is seeking a full‑time Comprehensive Optometrist who will provide comprehensive eye care for adult patients, including annual exams, ocular disease management, refractions, same‑day emergency care, and focused care for dry eye disease using advanced therapies. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to enhance dry eye services is essential. The position does not require contact lens care.

Duties And Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive eye examinations and management of ocular disease for adult patients.

Perform refractions and same‑day emergency care.

Diagnose and treat dry eye disease using advanced therapies.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance dry eye services.

Participate in teaching, research, scholarship, and service as appropriate for faculty rank.

Engage in active participation at OSUWMC facilities and other clinical sites assigned.

Serve on divisional, departmental, and college committee functions.

Engage with local, regional, or national professional organizations.

Requirements And Preferred Qualifications

Graduate of a United States accredited School of Optometry.

Passed all parts of the NBEO exam.

Possess and maintain a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Ohio.

Completed a residency in ocular disease or comprehensive care.

Experience in managing dry eye disease (preferred).

Training or certification in Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy and other advanced dry eye treatments (highly desirable).
