Summary As the Thin Films Shift Lead for Micron’s Fab 6 300mm Thin Films Process area, you will supervise night shift equipment technicians (F‑Shift) and ensure operational excellence in tool maintenance, process integrity, and team development. This role requires strong technical expertise in semiconductor equipment, leadership in night shift operations, and a commitment to safety, cost control, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Set daily priorities for Thin Films workstations and monitor area status (tool downs, lots on hold, tool qualifications).
Attend all shift change meetings and provide clear communication across shifts.
Drive efficient troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of CVD/PVD systems.
Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance and process activities using SPC, passdowns, QDRs, and tracking systems.
Collaborate with managers, production, process integration, and other engineering teams.
Support staffing needs through interviewing, hiring, and performance evaluations.
Identify training needs and establish development goals for team members.
Promote safety culture and enforce environmental compliance standards.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of hands‑on experience with CVD/PVD systems, vacuum systems, plasma tools, and deposition chambers; familiarity with AMAT, TEL, and LAM platforms.
Proven ability to lead night shift teams, manage priorities, and resolve operational issues independently.
Strong understanding of PPE standards, emergency response, and OSHA compliance for night shift operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with tool installations, upgrades, and retrofits; familiarity with AutoCAD and facility infrastructure.
Ability to create SOPs, train technicians, and foster cross‑functional collaboration.
Skilled in using SPC, Orion dashboards, and equipment tracking systems to monitor performance and implement improvements.
