McDonald’s has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Experience Design Consultant on the Global Learning & Development team. In this role, you will be part of the Global Learning Design and Technology team during a period of unprecedented innovation and advancement. As a Learning Experience Designer, you will work closely with Experience Design Managers on assigned projects, designing global, modern learning experiences that drive behavior change through immersive, engaging experiences and preparing the content for global deployment in over 12 languages. All of this enables performance excellence across McDonald’s restaurants each day, resulting in engaged employees delivering delicious food and feel‑good customer experiences.
Duties
Lead and project manage assignments through the learning experience design process, including those supported by external vendor partners or global team members.
Design and develop immersive, engaging, multi‑modal human‑centered learning experiences using varied media and digital learning tools to achieve business and related behavioral objectives.
Bring stakeholders and learning team leadership and peers on the journey to gain buy‑in throughout, gathering feedback along the way.
Complete quality reviews and testing of digital learning experiences to ensure the product looks good and functions correctly on all targeted devices, completes successfully, and is free of grammatical and branding issues.
Partner with program managers, peer designers, learning technology, and global/market learning teams to provide subject‑matter expertise on instructional design theory, modalities, content, implementation, engagement, and learning strategies.
Consult and architect learning experiences on complex learning projects focused on driving behavior change and elevating the employee experience.
Provide support in the piloting/implementation of new programs and act as liaison to Learning Technology, Information Technology Support groups, markets, contractors, and vendors.
Network externally, research, and experiment with leveraging emerging industry best practices, methodologies, and innovative solutions that enhance and reimagine the learner experience.
Conduct needs assessments and gain agreement with key stakeholders on program outcomes and success metrics.
Engage with learners and key stakeholders to gather user/stakeholder feedback, test theories (including conducting prototype labs), design and validate program effectiveness.
Use qualitative and quantitative data‑driven insights to improve learning experience design and execution; share best practices and lessons learned.
Collaborate with small and large teams to achieve goals.
Craft communication plans and assets to support the deployment of learning initiatives across markets to drive awareness and adoption – motivating learners to be excited about the offerings.
Qualifications
Demonstrated application of instructional design and HPT principles.
Demonstrated design experience across learning modalities (ILT, eLearning, Virtual, Performance Support) – Articulate Storyline v2 and Captivate 9; Inkling and Adobe tools being leveraged.
Experience with scenario/project‑based, or game‑based learning design a plus.
Experience applying change management and marketing strategy to engage learners a plus.
Experience working across different Global markets (Desirable).
Experience with LMS environments.
Demonstrated project management skills; ability to meet deadlines and stay in budget.
Ability to manage multiple projects, including stakeholders, and deliver results within tight deadlines.
Experience with the software development lifecycle to create and implement digital solutions a plus.
Compensation The expected salary range for this role is $78,281.00 – $97,852.00 per year. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we may also consider your experience and other job‑related factors.
