Salary: The previously determined range for this position was $38.26/hr to $85.82/hr. The final rate offered will be determined by the collective bargaining agreement, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, and budget constraints.
This position requires Illinois residency within 180 days of the hire date.

Position Summary
The Staff Nurse II is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model as the framework.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and updates the patient’s plan of care based on ongoing assessment and input from the patient and family.
- Shares information and collaborates with other members of the health care team to promote effective patient care.
- Verifies and implements orders from the physician and nurse practitioner by performing interventions as prescribed and documenting accurately.
- Engages and obtains information from patient and family to develop an appropriate patient educational plan.
- Recognizes symptoms, establishes priorities, and responds to patient’s changing needs.
- Engages support personnel by delegating appropriate tasks per the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act and provides support and feedback.
- Advocates for patients, families, and the community.
- Assumes role of Charge Nurse when assigned, utilizing appropriate resources and tools.
- Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based research, current standards of practice and clinical experience to provide quality patient care.
- Takes responsibility for continued professional growth and development.
- Identifies recurring clinical practice problems and participates in problem solving and resolution.
- Plans, presents, and evaluates learning/educational experiences for staff and students.
- Serves as preceptor and resource to nursing and support staff.
- Leads unit-based quality initiatives and provides feedback and education to staff.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSN (or higher) from an accredited nursing program.
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
- One year of nursing experience comparable to a Staff Nurse I.
- Current BLS/CPR and/or unit-specific certifications.
- Effective communication skills to facilitate therapeutic relationships.
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Excellent attendance and interpersonal skills.
