Technical Designer & Production Patternmaker J.A. Uniforms, established in 1997, is dedicated to creating high-quality, fashionable uniforms that combine comfort with a sharp aesthetic. Summary

We are seeking a skilled Technical Designer & Production Patternmaker with strong CAD experience to support our growth, internal pattern library, and Miami based factory operations.

Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30am

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in technical apparel design and product development; Proficiency in CAD software (Lectra preferred), such as Lectra, Gerber, Optitex, TukaTech, etc., and willingness to learn Lectra

Develop markers for optimal fabric yield and cutting accuracy

Troubleshoot digital pattern issues and maintain clean, organized file structures

Manage and update pattern libraries and variant databases across multiple product categories

Understanding and mastery of fit, patternmaking, grading, fabric performance, garment construction, and manufacturing processes

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus

Ability to translate design sketches and concepts into accurate patterns, tech packs, and measurement specs (in collaboration with the design department)

Manage and maintain the Style Library, ensuring all grading rules align with company standards

Collaborate with the design team to approve fabrics, trims, and construction details

Support the development of new silhouettes

Passion for precision, problem‑solving, and contributing to a high‑performance environment

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator

Proficiency in Excel

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in fine arts required – preferably in the field of Fashion Design
