Working Title Adjunct Faculty Location: District Wide

Pay Information: Salary placement is contingent upon receipt of official transcripts and verifications of previous work experience. Instructors with advanced coursework or experience will be placed on the appropriate class and step on the Adjunct College Salary Schedules effective the first month following receipt of the required documentation.

The Position The San Diego Community College District accepts applications for adjunct (part‑time/substitute) positions for our three college campuses (City, Mesa, Miramar) and various continuing education centers on a continuous basis. Applicants who meet the required minimum qualifications will be included in the adjunct pool for possible assignments in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters of the academic year. Hiring departments will contact qualified candidates directly. Applications are purged approximately one year from submission.

Part‑time/temporary faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist adult students in achieving their educational goals. These positions are as‑needed and applicants should live within commuting distance to San Diego. Assignments may include a combination of day, evening, weekend, and/or off‑campus classes.

Major Responsibilities

Handle daily press operations, including media relations, social media posts, program webpage management, and program promotion.

Assist with recruitment and transfer, support game event recording statistics and operations, and liaise with CCCAA for sports information tasks.

Maintain in‑game live statistics for multiple sports, including 800‑1,000 keystrokes per basketball game.

Update, design, and consult on all webpage tasks at www.sdcityknights.com.

Capture team and individual photos, create profiles and interviews, and maintain athletes and team archives.

Create marketing videos and manage social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram) for the sports program.

Liaise with local media, neighboring colleges, and 4‑year universities to promote recruitment and transfer of student athletes.

Provide compliance activities for rules and statistical analysis.

Co‑coordinate with the conference SID group for alignment, assist students in promoting to 4‑year universities, and attend all Athletics‑related meetings.

Sometimes cover 4–5 separate games in a single day and attend away contests as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of professional experience related to the area of assignment; or

Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution and six (6) years of professional experience related to the area of assignment; or

The equivalent.

Foreign degrees must be evaluated by a professional association that is a member of NACES or ACEI. An original evaluation must be presented at the time of hire.
