About the Role Title: 3D Artist 4

Our team is looking for a sharp eye and a deft hand to help breathe a fresh vision into a new Halo experience.

The Concept Artist is central in establishing the overall vision of the universe, working with the Lead Concept Artist to create imagery that will communicate the visual experience, excite the team, and help blueprint all the aspects of the game for content authoring.

He/she should bring a world‑class understanding of composition and color, a strong ability to render exciting industrial design, and a firm grasp of the practical aspects of content creation.

Job Responsibilities

Work closely with the Art Director, Lead Concept Artist, and other Artists to define the look of the project, from global 'broad stroke vision' and mood to its specific, individual pieces.

Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the game universe and the constraints of the technology.

Be proactive about seeking feedback and communication with the Art Director and other relevant departments.

Create orthographic (construction) drawings for environments, props, characters, vehicles and weapons.

Assist the Art Director, Lead Concept Artist and other Senior Concept Artists in providing studio feedback during the course of production.

Participate in regular team meetings

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or diploma with an emphasis on Art

Shipped at least one AAA game title

An outstanding grasp of human anatomy, animal anatomy, industrial, and architectural design coupled with strong traditional art fundamentals

Exceptional mastery of either Photoshop or Painter

Ability to work collaboratively - must be open to direction and able to embrace change

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of concept art experience, strong artistic fundamentals (composition, lighting, design), and proven ability to work in FPS or sci‑fi game genres. They should be proficient with tools like Unreal Engine, Blender, and Photoshop, have excellent collaboration skills, and present a well‑curated, easily accessible portfolio showcasing top work and problem‑solving ability.

Required Skills & Portfolio Expectations

Strong foundational/fundamental drawing skills

Hand‑drawn sketches and drawings

Ability to present rendered 3D images as part of concept work

Concept Artist background only (3D Artists are not a fit)

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have

Hard‑surface artwork (not required, but a strong plus)

Interest and passion for learning hard‑surface design is highly valued

Sci‑Fi themed examples], such as:

Robots

Vehicles

Weapons

Top 3 Must‑Have HARD Skills

Concept Art Fundamentals – Minimum 5 years of experience with composition, lighting, and design principles to create high‑quality visual assets.

Development Tool Proficiency – Minimum 3–5 years of experience using tools such as Unreal Engine, Blender, and Photoshop for game asset creation.

Collaboration & Communication Skills – Strong ability to work within a team environment and coordinate effectively across art and development teams (experience level typically demonstrated through 5+ years in similar roles).

Salary Range $124,800 – $134,800 annually – factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
