Senior Industrial Designer – Factioned Factioned is a design/build firm focused on interior design, architectural‑scale manufacturing, industrial design, and private client artwork conceptualization and development. Our projects encompass complete environments, large‑scale feature installations, custom lighting elements, sculptures, mechanical products, custom furniture, and any number of client requests. We never shy away from a new design challenge.

We are a multidisciplinary team of designers with backgrounds in architecture, interior design, industrial design, graphic design, photography, painting, and sculpture. With extensive custom fabrication and construction experience, we ensure that designs are executable and simplify the fabrication process.

Responsibilities

Develop visual requirements from concept to final execution, working directly with clients.

Assess projects with focus on fabrication techniques, aesthetic and design features, and manufacturability (design/build).

Work intimately with CAD, client interfacing, project management, quality control, scheduling, and vendor coordination.

Problem‑solve and apply practical judgment to meet deadlines.

Requirements

7‑10+ years of post‑college experience in industrial design, design/build, and project management.

College degree in Industrial Design or related specialty.

Proficiency in Fusion 360, Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp (additional program knowledge is a plus).

Working knowledge of 3D printing applications.

Mechanical aptitude – knowledge of industrial and manufacturing processes and use of hand and power tools (table saw, compound miter saw, planer, etc.).

Experience with woods, metals, acrylics, finishes, subcontractors, and fabrication partners.

Project management experience across multiple projects and stakeholders.

Advanced hand‑sketching and visualization skills.

Attention to detail, persistence, and timely follow‑through.

Organized planner with ability to iterate quickly based on feedback, constraints, and testing.

Position full‑time; first 3 months on a trial basis.

Specific Skills

CAD capabilities in Fusion 360, Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp.

Experience with 3D printers and related applications.

Mechanical and tool proficiency.

Material knowledge across woods, metals, acrylics.

Vendor and subcontractor collaboration.

Effective sketching and visualization.

Detail orientation and iterative design.
