Associate Account Director/Account Director, Affiliate Marketing The Account Director is a critical role at Acceleration Partners that’s ideal for individuals who are excited about growing online brands and delivering innovative strategies that drive growth for our clients. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, understanding their business needs, and delivering outcomes consistently. The Account Director will manage a portfolio of clients, retain and grow revenue, identify expansion opportunities, and help pitch and win new business. They will work closely with Program Directors to lead large account teams and ensure high‑standard outcomes aligned with client goals.

Responsibilities

Client Management and Engagement – Serve as the primary relationship manager, build trust, and encourage growth and retention. Engage with client contacts, learn fundamental business aspects, and proactively address risks and opportunities.

Strategic Thinking and Implementation – Develop forward‑thinking strategies, identify high‑potential opportunities, and pitch & optimize them. Use data to make decisions and sell clients on new strategies.

Market Innovation and Big Picture Thinking – Stay updated on industry trends, leverage new publisher models, and pitch new opportunities aligned with client goals.

AP Revenue Accountability and Growth – Meet and often exceed revenue targets, identify expansion opportunities, and drive renewal success.

Lead, Coach and Influence – Lead by influence, coach Account Managers, and work with Program Directors to ensure strong performance without direct management.

BY 6 MONTHS The Account Director is overseeing the strategic direction and outcomes of multiple affiliate programs, has formed strong relationships with key client contacts, and has a great understanding of their business and needs. They effectively coach the team to achieve results and maintain strong collaboration with Program Directors.

BY 1 YEAR The Account Director is delivering against portfolio expansion targets, ensuring 90%+ revenue retention, and serving as the strategic partner for clients. Clients appreciate the Acceleration Partners team, and deliverables meet A‑caliber standards with Client Satisfaction Scores consistently above 8.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

8+ years of online marketing, e‑commerce, or affiliate marketing experience

General understanding of affiliate marketing (direct or indirect exposure)

Proficiency in compelling presentations and storytelling

Experience managing revenue targets

Data analysis and use of insights for strategy

Knowledge of affiliate tracking methodologies (e.g., Radius by Impact, ShareASale)

Microsoft Office expertise

Experience in an agency or client‑service environment

Track record of increasing client spend through upselling and expansion

Target salary $100,000 – $130,000 + bonus, depending on location and experience
