This role is based 2 days per week out of our San Francisco HQ and is not eligible for full‑time remote work.

The annual salary range for this role is $176,000 – $222,000, in addition to equity and benefits.

Team & Role We’re looking for a Head of Product Marketing to work closely with Gem’s leadership team on the company’s most important initiatives. You’ll rewrite Gem’s narrative, lead large product launches, build playbooks to outperform competitors, and equip the entire GTM org for success. Product Marketing is a strategic function that the entire company relies on.

You’ll be wildly successful if you’re a smart strategist, analytical thinker, great writer, persuasive speaker, and someone who just knows how to get things done. You’ll report directly to the Head of Marketing and work with a small team of two direct reports.

What You’ll Do Day‑to‑Day

Messaging and positioning – build the foundation for Gem’s GTM engine, from the company narrative to product‑ and solution‑level messaging.

Product launch – run launches that move the needle using our unique playbook.

GTM strategy – collaborate with exec staff and Ops on our ICP, target personas, and GTM plays.

Competitive intelligence – create positioning, battle cards, and talking points to outmaneuver top competitors.

Campaign strategy and messaging – partner with Marketing and Sales on campaigns for personas, segments, and verticals.

Analyst relations – work with Gartner and other firms to keep Gem top‑of‑mind in industry reports.

Pricing and packaging – partner with Ops to define P&P for new products and evolve all offerings.

Sales partnership – collaborate with the VP Sales and segment leaders on winning messaging, pitch content, and revenue‑boosting strategies.

GTM enablement – produce Sales and Success collateral, product learning, playbooks, and high‑spot content.

About You

Experienced B2B product marketing leader with 10+ years in B2B SaaS, sales‑led GTM, and 3+ years people management. Experience in talent‐/recruiting tech is a bonus.

Startup veteran who thrives in fast‑moving environments and balances velocity with strategy.

Excellent communicator – writer, presenter, meeting facilitator, and portfolio builder.

Curious problem‑solver who asks “why” and never settles for the easiest path.

Organized and proactive – keeps launches on schedule and runs multiple projects simultaneously.

Executive presence – comfortably interfaces with VPs and C‑level leaders.

Data obsessed – fluent in Salesforce, spreadsheets, and data‑driven decision making.

People‑first leader who excites the company and supports the team.
